Academic & Research Commons

The ARC is a collaborative partnership among the Brooks Library, Learning Support Services, Career Services and Information Services. The ARC offers research assistance, career counseling, and peer tutoring in a technologically interactive study space.  The ARC provides a safe space for students to explore and make learning connections that will allow them to achieve success at the university and in their future endeavors.

Collaboration Areas in the ARC

The Academic & Research Commons is, above all, a place for collaboration.  To encourage collaboration, we have many different areas designed to cater to the various needs of our students, staff, and faculty. Below, you will find descriptions of these areas.

Reserve a Collaboration Area

Presentation rooms and media:scapes are available in 2 hour increments and can be reserveded up to 2 weeks in advance by students, faculty, and staff.  For more information or assistance call the iDesk at (509) 963-1021.  Reservations are required for the presentation rooms.

Request a Consultation

Math and writing consultations are peer-to-peer sessions lasting up to 50 minutes and are available for all enrolled CWU students. Research consultations match students with a librarian who will assist with library research.

Hours in the ARC

The ARC is open all hours that the Brooks Library is open.  Learning Support Services maintains these hours for writing and math.
