History: The origins of the Faculty Senate at Central Washington University began with the formation of an eleven member Faculty Council in the fall of 1946. The Faculty Council evolved into the Faculty Senate in September of 1963. The Faculty Senate currently represents the faculty in matters relating to curriculum, educational policy, academic regulations and standards, personnel policies and the welfare of its membership.
Contents: Collection consists of faculty codes developed by the Faculty Council (1947 to 1962) and the Faculty Senate (1963 to present) of Central Washington University and its predecessor institutions. The codes contain information on faculty conduct, system of academic ranks, promotion, tenure regulations, salary policies, teaching load, grievances and other related policies and procedures regarding faculty personnel.
