| History: | Ellensburg Community Television, (ECTV) was established by the Ellensburg City Council on April 2, 1984. ECTV is a branch of the City of Ellensburg, but is managed by the Multimedia Technology and Instructional Support Unit of Central Washington University (CWU). The ECTV facilities are located in Brooks Library on the CWU campus. The Ellensburg Cable Commission acts as the governing body for ECTV, which consists of five members appointed by the City Council. The council reviews and approves, or disapproves, equipment purchases as well as all operating procedures. |
| Contents: | The collection consists of video cassettes produced and retained by Ellensburg Community Television from 1985 and 2003. The cassettes contain sounds and images of campus, local and regional events, such as the Ellensburg Rodeo, Kittitas County Fair, McManamy Ranch cattle drive, Central Washington University’s Centennial celebration, Western Art Show, meetings of the Ellensburg City Council and Kittitas County Commission, student produced news programs and other video recordings of interest to the community served by the television station. |
