History: Ellensburg Community Television, (ECTV) was established by the Ellensburg City Council on April 2, 1984. ECTV is a branch of the City of Ellensburg, but is managed by the Multimedia Technology and Instructional Support Unit of Central Washington University (CWU). The ECTV facilities are located in Brooks Library on the CWU campus. The Ellensburg Cable Commission acts as the governing body for ECTV, which consists of five members appointed by the City Council. The council reviews and approves, or disapproves, equipment purchases as well as all operating procedures.
Contents: The collection consists of VHS and U-Matic video cassettes produced by Ellensburg Community Television of campus and community events from 1980 to 2006. Included in the collection are video dubs of earlier activities and events in the Ellensburg community.
