| History: | On May 5, 1926 the Board of Trustees of the Washington State normal School at Ellensburg set a plan to organize a non-profit corporation to manage a proposed dormitory building program. The Ellensburg Normal School Dormitory Building Cooperation was established on May 25, 1926 to fulfill that role. The Cooperation consisted of four Ellensburg and three Yakima members. The stock market crash of 1929 put an end to Cooperation’s ability to allocate funds for the construction of campus buildings. The Cooperation was abolished and State of Washington took over the financial responsibility for construction costs in 1933. |
