    Grants:

  • Prepared a $10,000 grant application in the Spring of 2007 for the Washington Preservation Initiative, supported by funding provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, to reformat and preserve the H. Glenn Hogue Collection of photographic negatives of the Central Washington University campus and Kittitas Valley region from the 1930s to the 1960s. The funding was not approved by the selection committee.
  • Assisted in the preparation of a federal grant to archive and transfer into a digital format aging films and video cassettes produced by the Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute from the 1970s to the present. Grant was submitted in October of 2005 but was denied funding in May of 2006.
  • Prepared a grant application in the Spring of 2005 for the Washington Preservation Initiative, supported by funding provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, to microfilm the student newspapers of Central Washington University from 1916 to 2005. Grant was approved for $8,383.00.
  • Prepared a grant application for the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts Preservation Overview Survey Program in Summer of 2005 for a consultant to evaluate the Central Washington University Archives program. Grant was submitted but the institution was not selected to participate in the grant program.
  • Prepared a grant application for the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts Preservation Overview Survey Program in Fall of 2003 for the Auburn University Archives program. Grant was not submitted due to time constraints.

    Research Guides:

  • Created library resource guides for College History, Local History, Native Americans, Atlases, Maps, Genealogy, Biography, European History and the Middle East for the State University of New York at Oswego, Penfield Library.
  • Co-authored a community-wide bibliography/study guide for the 50th anniversary of the War Refugee Center (Jewish Refugees) in Oswego, New York.
  • Assisted in the revision of the American History study guide for the State University of New York at Oswego, Penfield Library.
  • Assisted in the creation of a guide to better utilize The Video Encyclopedia of the 20th Century for the State University of New York at Oswego, Penfield Library.
  • Created library study guides for upper level history classes for the State University of New York at Oswego, Penfield Library.

    Videos:

  • Produced and developed a video on the political career of Governor Ned Ray McWherter of Tennessee for use in a permanent exhibit displayed at the University of Tennessee, Special Collections Department.
  • Interviewed on the recent findings in the Holland McCombs papers, shown in Dallas, Texas during the 33rd reunion of the John F. Kennedy assassination before a conference of international researchers and national news agencies.
  • Produced a series of video/oral history interviews for the Weakley County State Bicentennial Committee in honor of the 200th anniversary of the State of Tennessee.
  • Co-produced a video documentary on the War Refugee Shelter, entitled Safe Haven: 1944-1946 for the State University of New York at Oswego.
  • Assisted the Oswego Maritime Foundation in conducting research for the video documentary Diving Into History: The David W. Mills.

    World Wide Web Sites:

  • Developed and maintain the Living History Project / Oral Histories website at http://www.lib.cwu.edu/archive/finding/fa039-05-78.htm that includes digitalized (using OCR) transcripts of Central Washington University emeriti and alumni from the 1920s to the 1990s. The website was begun in the summer of 2007 and continues to the present.
  • Assisted in the development of the Central Washington University Digital Collections website that focuses upon scanned collections housed by the Central Washington University Archives located at http://digital.lib.cwu.edu/. The website was begun in the summer of 2007 and continues to the present.
  • Developed and maintain the Central Washington University Archives website at http://www.lib.cwu.edu/archive/ and the Special Collections website at http://www.lib.cwu.edu/archive/sc_index.html from September of 2004 to the present.
  • Maintained the Society of Alabama Archivist homepage from November of 2002 to August of 2004.
  • Developed and maintained the Auburn University Special Collections and University Archives website from September of 2002 to August of 2004.
  • Contributed photographs and historical information to the Local Legacies Project to commemorate the bicentennial of the Library of Congress.   • Cataloged of over 200 historically significant papers, diaries, and other archival material located in Auburn University's Archives, into a machine readable format (Voyager & OCLC).
  • Processed, preserved and arranged over 70 manuscript and archival collections, totaling over 500 cubic feet, while serving as archivist at Auburn University.
  • Created, digitally converted, and placed on the Internet over 250 manuscript and archival finding aids at Auburn University.
  • Assisted in the preparation of a Policy & Procedure Guide to assist graduate student interns in processing, organizing and developing finding aids for manuscript and archival materials in the Fall of 2002 at Auburn University.

  • Served as an exhibit judge at the National History Day Competition, Central Washington Region, in Yakima, Washington on March 8, 2008.
  • Volunteer as a consultant, processor and cataloger of archival collections housed at the Ellensburg Public Library.
  • Conducted an archival cataloging training session, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, for members of Historic Wrightsville Incorporated on October 19th, 2001.
  • Served as a regional preservation consultant for the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (2001 to 2002).
  • Former member of the Martin Tourism Brochure Committee which prepared a brochure to promote historical points of interest in Martin, Tennessee.
  • Served as a member of Weakley County Family History Book Committee which is preparing to publish a county history and genealogical reference guide to commemorate the 175th Anniversary of Weakley County, Tennessee.
  • Volunteered at the Carroll County Historical Society and Gordon Browning Museum of McKenzie, Tennessee in preserving, documenting and cataloging the collections held in their repository.
  • Conducted a regional workshop for the Preserving Tennessee's Documentary Heritage project sponsored by the Tennessee State Library and Archives and Tennessee 200.
  • Served as a member of the Bicentennial Committee of Weakley County to develop a county wide program to recognize the 200th anniversary of Tennessee becoming a state.
  • Assisted in the formation and organization of the 50th Reunion and remembrance celebration of the War Refugee Shelter at Fort Ontario (Oswego, New York), where close to 1,000 holocaust survivors were interned during the Second World War.
  • Participated in a video history project whereby over 60 former refugees and local residents were interviewed on the social, cultural and political impact of the War Refugee Shelter on the community.
  • Assisted in the development of a traveling exhibit on the Safe Haven experience.
  • Participated in the production of "Diving Into History: the David W. Mills", a video presented by the Oswego Maritime Foundation.
  • Participated in the initial stages of the "Faces of Oswego: the Immigrant Experience", a series of events designed to promote the "Year of the Immigrant" in Oswego, New York.
  • Volunteered time to organize the research library at the Fort Ontario State Historic Site.
  • Assisted in the revitalization of internship programs between the History Department and local historical organization.
