Date Span: 1906-1979. Size: 6 cubic feet. Number of Boxes: 12 Boxes. Type of material: Yearbooks. Physical condition: : Older volumes are crumbling at edges, some acidification. Suede and leather covers have very minor tears and staining. Generally text blocks and bindings are intact with evidence of past repair on some volumes. Arrangement: Arranged Chronologically, with no yearbooks published for 1920 and 1921. Historical or Biographical Sketch: The Associated Student Body was established in March of 1908 to hold weekly meetings to educate the students in parliamentary procedures. In 1910, meetings produced proposals to manage student affairs as a student government organization. Eventually, the ASB developed into a full-fledged student government- the Associated Students of Central Washington University, and published the yearbooks and student newspaper. Scope and Content Note: These yearbooks contain photographs of students, staff and faculty and organizations, constituting the most systematic photographic record of Centrals history. 1906-1918 title: Kooltuo, 1919 title: Yearbook of Student Opinion, 1920-1972 title: Hyakem.
