Historical or Biographical Sketch: The library began in Barge Hall, moved into Bouillon Hall in 1962, and finally to the current building in 1973. In 2003, the building was named in honor of Dr. James L. Brooks, former president of Central Washington University.

Scope and Content Note: Consists of newspaper, magazine and journal articles published by faculty members of Central Washington University (and its predecessors) from the 1910s to the 1970s. Collection includes a series of campus newsletters titled Preliminary Drafts, edited by Robert Yee, which offered brief notes and essays of research being conducted by CWU faculty.
