Historical or Biographical Sketch: The Office of the President at Central Washington University originated with the appointment of a Principal for Washington State Normal School by the Board of Trustees in the fall of 1891. The title of Principal was changed to President in 1914 and continues to be used today. Scope and Content Note: The collection consists of miscellaneous documents from the school’s history, including its establishment, name changes, administrative and curriculum changes, consolidation attempts, student life, scholarships, anniversary celebrations, student protests of Vietnam, the psychology building construction, land use zones, and lists of early graduates. Research Note: No Restrictions.
