Historical or Biographical Sketch: The Office of Business Services and Contracts at Central Washington University was established in 1972. Prior to that date the duties it performs were split between the College Controller and Business System Analyst in the Business Office. The office currently provides services related to contracting, real property management, inventory management, surplus operations, centralized management of insurance programs and environmental, health and safety operations. The office operates as a department of the Division of Business and Financial Affairs.

Scope and Content Note: The collection consists of correspondence and reports received or created by the Office of Business Services and Contracts at Central Washington State College (presently Central Washington University) from 1954 to 1992. The files contain records related to property purchases and rentals by the college, employment and personnel issues, and student fees and governance. Included in the files are Employee Council meeting minutes (1970-1992), Higher Education Personnel Board meeting minutes (1970-1977), and reports from the various departments in the Business and Financial Affairs Office.
