Historical or Biographical Sketch: The Office of International Studies and Programs at Central Washington University was first established as the Latin American Studies Program in the fall of 1970. The department’s role expanded and the title was changed to International Programs in the fall of 1972. It was changed to its current name, Office of International Studies and Programs, in the fall of 1995. Scope and Content Note: The collection consists of correspondence and reports authored or received by the Office of International Programs at Central Washington State College (presently Central Washington University) from 1967 to 1977. The collection contains correspondence from the program director, assistant director, dean of undergraduate studies and resident directors residing outside of the United States. Included in the files are correspondence and reports related to the Partners of the Americas project, departmental outreach, program proposals and curriculum, departmental statistics and evaluations, budget reports and miscellaneous administrative records.
