Online Access to Library materials
General Information
Brooks Library offers CWU Center students and faculty a wide variety of online resources. Universal access is provided to CATTRAX, the library catalog, which contains information related to the location of books, journals, videos and government information. Searching for available materials at other Northwest libraries including CWU is provided through Summit. Searching is non-restricted, though requesting materials is restricted to users with a Library PIN. (See below to Library PIN Information) To search over a 1,000 member libraries across North America and other regions users will need to search WorldCat. Access is restricted to University-affiliated members. Users will need to create an Inter-Library Loan (ILLiad) (See below to ILLiad Information) account before requesting materials. Registered users also have access to over subscription databases containing thousands of full-text journal and newspaper articles.
Library PIN Information
A Library PIN will allow users to:
- Verify borrowed materials and their due date.
- Renew materials that are NOT overdue or requested. (Overdue items must be renewed at the Circulation Desk)
- Check the status of Summit requests.
- Confirm accurate personal information.
If you have any questions about the Library PIN and resetting the password, contact either the CWU-Des Moines or CWU-Lynnwood Resource Centers or call 800.290.3327 and ask to speak with a Circulation supervisor.
ILLiad (ILL) Account Information
ILLiad, the library's web-based Inter-Library Loan system, allows users to request:
- Articles not available full-text through the library's subscription databases.
- Returnable items not held by the CWU library system.
First-Time Users need to complete a User Registration Form. For additional information consult the ILL Services Guide.
