CWU Music Library: Reference Books

Music reference books are located in the Music Library's Score, Book, and Reference Room, Rm. 402. This room has the same public service schedule as the main Library building. This and the schedules for other Library departments can be found on the CWU Library's Web-based home page at: http://www.lib.cwu.edu/. Music reference books do not circulate out of the Library, but can be used anywhere within the Library.

The Music Library has older print copies of the RILM Index and The Music Index, but RILM and The Music Index can also be accessed from the Databases page.

Other music resources are shelved in this room, including music term dictionaries, biographical dictionaries, bibliographies, thematic catalogs, and other music dictionaries and encyclopedias. Authoritative reference works are located here as well, and can be found listed on local CATTRAX terminals, the library's on-line catalog, as well as through the Library's home page. Library users of the on-line catalog should pay special attention to whether music materials are listed as Reference, as "non-circ" or as "available". Not all bibliographies, thematic catalogs, and dictionaries have been made Reference or "non-circ" items, and are available for checkout by CWU patrons with the correct campus I.D./library checkout card.
