Music Library Listening Area Policy

The Brooks Library’s Music Library Listening Area is open to the public but primarily serves CWU faculty, students and staff with Connection Cards, giving them access to the music recordings, books and music scores, as well as non-circulating audio equipment.  The Listening Area is also the location of the Music Theory Lab which is available to CWU students and faculty.  These music theory computers contain music theory software programs but do not contain word processing software.

The Listening Area also houses a small audio/visual room, room 401G.  This space is primarily used by CWU students for listening to Music Library recordings or for viewing the Library’s collection of DVDs or VHS tapes.  The general rule for the use of this audio/visual room is ‘first come, first serve.’  Non-CWU patrons can make use of the room’s audio/visual space by contacting Music Library staff.  However, if the patron wishes to borrow audio/visual equipment from Library/Circulation Unit, for example a 16mm film projector, the patron should first contact the Library’s Circulation Unit personnel.
