Librarian Positions

Research Engagement Librarian, Assistant Professor

CWU Libraries invites applicants for the Research Engagement Librarian to join a dedicated library team in offering dynamic, user-centered research services. Working under the direction of the Dean of Libraries, this position is a champion for research services and digital literacy. They are excited to help students build enduring research and information competencies. This individual is a strong advocate for underserved student populations and is engaged in responsive teaching for diverse learners and instruction of courses and workshops. As the coordinator of research services at CWU Libraries, the person in this position provides cross departmental leadership and continuous service improvement. Seeking out and collaborating with existing support units, such as Multimodal Learning, successful candidates are eager to provide research services, teach digital tools, and engage students with technology that advances research and learning. The successful candidate will integrate CWU’s commitment to diversity throughout their work and create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for all students. All faculty librarians have department liaison responsibilities, provide instruction, participate in collection development, and contribute to research services.

Lecture Pool - Research and Instruction Librarian

CWU Libraries invites interested candidates to apply for a vibrant position in Instruction and Research Services, a unit responsible for leading instruction, research, and data services in the CWU Libraries. This position will build relationships to support research and teaching with a focus on growing, promoting, and contributing to data services for finding, manipulating, analyzing, visualizing, and managing data to enhance curricula and research innovation at CWU. Through research consultations, classroom instructions, workshops, and other programming, this position helps the CWU Libraries meet curricular and research needs by increasing the visibility of available data-related resources and services. Faculty will integrate CWU’s commitment to diversity and create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible and inclusive for all students.

Graduate Student Employment

Graduate assistants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of public and technical service activities. Duties will be conducted in any of the library's units, including: Research and Instruction; Archives and Special Collections; Collection Development and Cataloging; and Access Services. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week throughout the academic year, for a total of 200 hours each quarter.
